I speak with so many people who struggle with the notion of God because they have never been exposed to Him in a powerful way. They may have heard of a God. Typically what they heard is far from reality. They are jaded and hurt and what they have heard of our Jesus scares them more than draws them.
I was reading John chapter 17 this morning and was reminded of a truth that is worth reflecting on.
Jesus is a pretty big deal. Lots of people have been following Him. When they see Him they have literally laid eyes on God and MANY know it. But Jesus is about to go to the cross. He knows He will be killed, resurrected, and ascend to heaven physically once again. He is praying for those that have believed in Him. He is talking with the Father about a truth that I believe the BODY of Christ needs to understand more fully.
John 17:20-22 20 “I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will believe in Me through THEIR word; 21 that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22 And the glory which You gave Me I have given THEM, that they may be one just as We are one:
This world needs Jesus, Yes. But He is not here. We are here. He dwells in us through His Spirit whom He has poured out in our hearts. Christ and You and I are not separated. You and I church carry His name, His glory, His love, His word.
Its is said; “there are no proofs of God, only witnesses.”
It is OUR word.. empowered by the Spirit dwelling in us that will awaken a generation to life!
It is OUR love.. Ignited by heaven that will change a broken people!
It is OUR embrace.. That will comfort a people that are outcast.
Its OUR ideas.. Fueled from a position in heavenly places that will advance Christ’s kingdom.
We represent Him in the earth. We are not our own, we are irreversible connected to and apart of Him! It’s as we walk this out in our life the world will be changed.
We have His mind! We have His Spirit! We carry His name! I believe the intention of The Lord was that the church would be the answer in that we would expose the world to HIM.
Oh that is generation would awaken to all that they are in HIM! That is where our identity is. Its not in who our parents are, who our boyfriend of girlfriend is, what kind of car we drive, or anything else! We are ONE with HIM!
As Jesus Christ is, so are WE in the earth.-1 John 4:17
My prayer is that The Holy Spirit would continue to show us trough God’s word and through revelation more of who our Jesus is.. because as we see Him more clearly we know who we are and what we are to be.
May the church shine with the imagine of Christ! May Your glory shine in us as we live in You Jesus!
Gal 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
