Do you have a moment?

Do you have a moment?

This is a phrase that never seems to come at the most opportune or convenient time.

I was reminded of the power of a “moment” as I sat drinking coffee this week and was suddenly approached with a deep personal need right in the middle of a coffee shop.

One moment I’m sipping coffee and chatting with a friend and the next thing I know I’m in the middle of an opportunity to play a part in someone else’s story. To share in THEIR moment.

A moment of our time can mean life to someone in a tuff situation!

A moment of our time can be the difference in someone’s life!

A moment of our time can be a catalyst to usher a miracle into someone else’s life!

Ministry… raw life changing ministry… typically seems to happen in these “moments”.

As I look at the life of Jesus this didn’t seem to be uncommon for Him. His life seemed to be filled with “do you have a moment” type situations.

A leper that needed healing. A blind man desperate for a touch. A father desperate to save his child. A sister desperate to save her brother. The list could go on and on.

Every one of these situations seemed to be more “sudden” than “convenient”.

He was always allowing Himself to be pulled into other people’s “moments”.

He never seemed to see them as an inconvenience but an opportunity……

MOMENTS!

I don’t want to be so maxed out that I don’t have the ability to respond in the moment.

I don’t want to be so busy that I don’t have time to respond in the moment.

I’m convinced that God is not looking for the most gifted people…. He’s looking for the most available people.

Do you have a moment?

May we all be able to reply with a resounding “YES” and see people loved to life.
