Victory in the Blood Trail….

Regret, shame, hopelessness, and belittlement. These are all things that will take root in our life if we do not fully grasp the forgiveness of God shown to us in the gospel of Christ. Its no joke how the past often times comes back to prevent us from entering into the future God wants for us. The things we were and have done often times become the ceiling for our lives and war with our minds and future.

Do not be so deceived as to think you have somehow become the first person that has learned how to SIN more powerfully than the cross can SAVE. God in the most desperate act to get to YOU, sent His own son into the world. Once you grasp this, that the sacrifice of Jesus is bigger than your most horrid act, you can forgive yourself knowing there is God that has first forgiven you.

There was a time early in my Christian walk that I struggled with the past, and grasping the forgiveness of God. As I was praying one day the Lord spoke to me and said, “By struggling with this your saying your sin is bigger than me. Who is bigger, me or your sin?” In the moment I was able to look back over my life and not see the sin and the mess and the shame and the guilt any longer. No longer did I see a life that was limited by choices and actions. There was no longer a heart weighed down by guilt. I saw the victory of Jesus trailing behind me. Instead of a trail of sin and terrible horrid acts, I saw a blood trail.

Realize that as a child of God you are covered by the blood of Jesus, and your past is not just forgiven, it is a chain of the victories of Christ over your failures. Don’t make your past bigger than Gods present salvation. Choose to stand back and look over your life and see the victory of Christ. Choose to see His victory and not your failure.

The promise God gives us, is that He will be our rear guard. Every wonder why we would need some one to watch our backs? Christ knew the significance of our pasts and knew that if we spent our time looking back, we would never get anywhere. God promises to have your back. In fact, the bible tells us His Glory is our rear guard. Guarding us from the past, protecting from the things that would attempt to come back to hurt us. The actual weight of Gods glory is watching our backs, covering our past, and thrusting us into the future. Don’t look back except to be reminded of Gods victory in your life. He will watch your back, forgive your past, and push you into the future at the same time! He desires to get to YOU and He has abolished sin and delivered victory in the process!!

Romans 5:9 : And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation

Isaiah 5:8

Then your light will break forth like the dawn, and your healing will quickly appear; then your righteousness[a] will go before you, and the glory of the LORD will be your rear guard.
